SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Chorley Start Date: September £14.63 per hour Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Chorley, supporting pupils within their Special Educational Needs (SEN) hub from September.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs in a specialist hub environment within the school. You will work closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals to provide tailored support, helping pupils to access learning and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning activities
- Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
Requirements
- Previous SEN experience is essential
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and behaviours
