The Borgen Project believes that leaders of the most powerful nations should focus on ending global poverty. The national campaign works to make poverty a priority in U.S., Canadian, and U.K. foreign policy.
Role Overview
The Borgen Project is an international organisation that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine, and poverty. With 20 years of experience in the advocacy space, we have helped pass numerous bills that have benefitted close to 500 million people in developing countries.
This is a part‑time programme: 12 hours per week for 12 weeks, unpaid and remote. If your availability is limited, you may complete the programme in fewer weeks.
Responsibilities
* Lead public and political outreach in your state and district.
* Meet with members of Congress and government in your state, district, or constituency.
* Represent The Borgen Project at various business, political, and community events.
* Assist with fundraising: create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.
* Mobilize individuals to contact their government representatives in support of key poverty‑reduction legislation.
* Speak to groups, classes, and organizations.
* Write letters of support for key programs to political leaders, media, and other groups.
Qualifications
* No prior experience is necessary. We’re looking for people passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of your GPA or background.
