A Social Care Officer position is available in: Our Fourteen Plus Team support young people aged 14 and over who are looked after by the Local Authority, young people who are homeless aged between 16 and 17 years, all care leavers up to the age of 25 years and all Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children. Proud : Proud of the Vale of Glamorgan; proud to serve our communities and to be part of the Vale of Glamorgan Council. About The Role Pay Details: Grade 6, SCP 14-19 (£28,624 - £31,067) p.a. Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours, 52 Weeks, Monday – Thursday 8.30 – 5.00, Friday 8.30 – 4.30 Main Place of Work: Docks Office/Agile working Description: As a Social Care Officer you will support vulnerable children, young people and their families/carers, in line with the relevant legislation, guidance, regulations and national standards. You will work independently, and as part of a multi agency team, and you will be confident in assessing, and working with children, young people and families to enable them to achieve the outcomes that they want to. About You You will need: Experience of working with children, young people and their families. Experience of working in a team. Experience of collating information and providing reports. Knowledge and understanding of the needs of vulnerable children. Knowledge of child development. Knowledge of different methods of engaging with children and young people.
