Job Summary
Position: Senior Project Support Officer (PSO) – Shared EPR
Full time, 37.5 hours per week, fixed‑term secondment until 31 December 2027.
The BSW Hospitals Group – Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust – is delivering a shared Electronic Patient Record (EPR) across all three trusts. This programme aims to improve quality and safety, enable more efficient working practices and deliver a better experience for patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the central support function for the EPR Programme across the three local care organisations, ensuring alignment of activity, documentation and communications within the BSW Hospitals Group.
* Support the development, maintenance and reporting of the programme work plan, taking autonomous decisions on prioritisation, resource allocation and scheduling in agreement with the Programme Manager.
* Take independent ownership of key governance products, including the programme risk register, issues log, stakeholder mapping framework and benefits realisation plan, ensuring high standards using recognised project‑management methodology.
* Apply senior project‑support judgement in assessing, escalating and, where appropriate, helping resolve programme risks and issues that may affect delivery, making recommendations to the Programme Manager and Programme Director.
Person Specification
Qualifications – Essential
* Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge through relevant experience.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Formal project management qualification.
Qualifications – Desirable
* Formal project qualification such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, Managing Successful Programmes, APM PMQ or equivalent.
* Management training and/or qualification.
Experience – Essential
* Significant experience in a project or programme support role, including direct experience working across multiple organisations or complex stakeholder environments.
* Demonstrable experience of independently managing programme governance documentation, including risk registers, issues logs, stakeholder maps and work plans.
* Experience of handling highly sensitive, commercially confidential or privileged information and applying appropriate information governance frameworks.
Experience – Desirable
* Experience of working simultaneously across several acute NHS trusts in a central coordination role.
* Experience of working on EPR or major digital transformation programmes.
* Experience of working with clinicians and engaging clinical stakeholders.
