Your Role

Your role will be working in a team of people who are the first point of contact for enquiries to Adult Social Care, providing a responsive and effective service and ensuring all customer contacts are handled in a professional and appropriate manner.

You will make referrals to appropriate internal teams and external services, using the information you receive from members of the public, colleagues, and partner organisations.

About You

We are looking for a self-motivated person, who can work part time within a fast-paced environment, with previous customer service experience and excellent communication skills.

About Us

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Referral and Information Officer within the Council’s Adult Social Care Front Door Team. This is a Multi-Disciplinary Team made up of Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Social Care Officers, and Referral and Information Officers.

This role is a good place to begin a career in Adult Social Care and has proven career pathways and progression.

As a team we follow the Adult Social Care strengths-based model of practice, Gloriously Ordinary Lives. Our aim is to ensure the residents of Stockport are able to lead a gloriously ordinary life whether this be with support from others or through providing accurate and helpful information and advice.

At Stockport Council we are one ambitious team on a mission to create opportunities for everyone who lives, works and spends time in the borough. Working at Stockport Council means contributing to one of the most thriving towns in the North. We’re keen to recruit people with the right values and behaviours that can help us ensure our workplace values are at the heart of everything we do.

We are proud to be recognised under the Good Employment Charter as an organisation committed to the wellbeing of our colleagues. As members of the charter, we have been recognised as a great place to work for all colleagues and pledge to pay the real living wage, engage staff in key decisions and endorse fair and flexible working conditions.

Appointment and Conditions

The successful applicant’s appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances including a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Guaranteed Assessment Scheme

Please note that we have made a commitment to improve the employment opportunities for people with disabilities, care leavers and ex-military personnel. As part of the Guaranteed Assessment Scheme you will therefore be guaranteed to be shortlisted for Assessment if you meet both the criteria for the scheme and the essential job role criteria.
