Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a forward‑thinking Band 6 senior Occupational Therapist to join our Integrated Therapy Team in an acute and community setting. You will manage a diverse, complex caseload within a dynamic environment, providing a high standard of occupational service in designated acute inpatient, outpatient and community settings as part of an annual rotational scheme.
Main Duties
* Support rotational OTs.
* Complete specialist assessment, rehabilitation and discharge planning.
* Plan and organise a designated caseload of complex patients within the specified service, owning professional activities under the Team Leader.
* Work with the patient and carers to identify and meet OT goals, using standardised tools to assess skills deficits and achieve functional fitness for timely discharge.
* Plan and implement single or a programme of interventions to meet patient needs, monitoring, evaluating and modifying treatment to ensure effectiveness.
* Ensure Therapy goals are integral to the multidisciplinary care plan for safe and timely discharge.
* Provide advice and education regarding lifestyle changes and adaptations for patients’ physical and social environment.

Person Specification
Essential
* BSc / MSc Occupational Therapy
* HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist
* Experience of multi‑disciplinary working and complex caseload management
* Comprehensive range of junior rotations with complex caseload experience
* Experience of facilitating discharges from acute setting and/or managing a community caseload
* Strong knowledge of respiratory, neurology, elderly, trauma and orthopaedic conditions and their management
* Principles and practices of rehabilitation / reablement
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Willingness to work off‑site in patients’ homes or community settings
Desirable
* Validated post‑registration courses
* Non‑clinical courses such as LEO / Edward Jenner leadership or student educator course
* Information technology competency
* Supervision of students in any environment
* Falls re‑education skills
* Supervisory / appraisal skills
