The successful candidate will have:
* Strong clinical skills and experience in assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of communication needs, particularly speech and language disorders.
* Experience of working with children in school-based settings.
* Experience in planning and delivering training
* Excellent analytical and communication skills, including negotiation, problem solving and planning
* Excellent time management, organisation and caseload management skills
* Experience of supporting non-qualified staff, including Speech and Language Therapy assistants.
* An ability to build a strong rapport and work effectively with colleagues.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post
Main duties of the job
* You will work with Team Leaders and colleagues in school-aged Speech and Language Therapy services to ensure equity, efficiency and dynamic service delivery.
* You will work with a varied Paediatric caseload, working with school-aged children, in a range of settings including Primary and Secondary mainstream schools and Specialist Settings including ALN.
* You will be responsible for assessing, and designing intervention for children on your caseload.
* You will have the opportunity to work directly with children and young people as well as provide training, advice and support to school staff and the wider workforce.
* You will work in partnership with families and professionals to support the needs of the children on your caseload.
* You will be involved in projects which contribute to service development.
* You will offer support to colleagues and partner agencies to develop knowledge and skills in working with children with speech and language disorders.

Essential criteria
* Recognised qualification degree / equivalent in S<
* HCPC registered
* Able to demonstrate continuing professional development e.g. up to date, relevant CPD portfolio
Desirable criteria
* Membership of appropriate clinical network group
* Other professional or academic qualification which relates to clinical practice
* Accredited Practice Placement Educator Certificate
Experience
Essential criteria
* A range of clinical experience across Adult / Paediatric SLT services
* Experience in service development / improvement
* Contributing to Student training
* Evidence of attendance on relevant specialist short courses
* Welsh / English therapy provision
Desirable criteria
* Delegation to registered staff
* Experience of leading multidisciplinary / multiprofessional teams
* Delivering Practice Supervision
