LGS Vision Recruitment are supporting a firm of accountants with a Tax Assistant position.

Role
* Preparing self-assessment tax returns and accounts
* Carrying out analysis, calculations, and submissions to HMRC
* Dealing with queries and correspondence with HMRC
* Managing Making Tax Digital (MTD) processes, including setting up clients on software
* Chasing client paperwork and completing quarterly returns
* Reviewing and implementing systems to improve efficiency
* Client invoicing, payment tracking, and credit control for self‑assessment clients
* Holding client meetings to provide tax planning advice and support
* Completing accounts during face‑to‑face client meetings where required
Ideal Candidate
* Tax experience within a practice
* Preferably bookkeeping and VAT skills/experience
* Personable with a good telephone manner
* Confident communicating with clients both over the phone and face to face
* Comfortable holding client meetings, including advising on ways to reduce tax liabilities
* Able to conduct face‑to‑face meetings where accounts may be completed with the client present
* Adaptable when working with a variety of clients
* Experience using IRIS and Xero
* Strong multitasking abilities
* A team player
