Salary: Circa £90,000 Basic Salary + Bonus & Excellent Benefits package – Subject to experience
The Opportunity
As a leading global data centre developer, we are seeking a Senior Data Centre Electrical Engineer to join the expanding European Development & Construction team. This is a senior, high-impact role where you will act as the Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) across major hyperscale projects, delivering resilient and efficient electrical systems for mission-critical facilities.
The Role
As Senior Data Centre Electrical Engineer / Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will:
* Lead on electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning across hyperscale data centre projects.
* Oversee systems such as high-voltage networks, UPS, switchgear, backup generators, and electrical monitoring solutions.
* Provide technical leadership as the Electrical SME, ensuring compliance with safety, reliability, and performance standards.
* Review electrical drawings, conduct factory witness testing, and manage commissioning phases.
* Advise on redundancy, energy efficiency, and scalable electrical infrastructure.
* Act as a trusted advisor to contractors, consultants, stakeholders, and tenants throughout the project lifecycle.
* You will be based either in or around London (UK wide also considered), Paris or Frankfurt, with extensive travel to European Projects
Key Requirements
* Extensive experience in electrical systems for critical facilities ideally within data centres or alternatively semiconductors or large-scale industrial plants.
* Strong expertise in power systems engineering, including HV systems, UPS, switchgear, and backup generation.
* Proven track record of delivering and commissioning electrical systems for complex infrastructure projects.
* Solid understanding of European electrical codes and regulations.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
* Flexibility to travel extensively across Europe (50–70%).
Desirable Qualifications
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
* 7+ years’ experience in electrical engineering, ideally within data centres or mission‑critical facilities.
* Professional certifications such as CEng, PMP, or LEED AP.
