Tudor Employment Agency is currently recruiting for an Auditor to work for our prestigious client based in Stafford.
The successful candidate will contribute, as an active team member, to the delivery of internal audit services for our client.
Portfolio of audit reviews to be undertaken:
* Commissioning and delivery of adult social care services
* Children’s Services, including early year provision and education welfare
* Economic development, including expenditure of government funding
* Highways and civil contingency, including flood risk management
* Legal Services
* The Staffordshire Pensions Fund
Job Role:
* The candidate will be required to negotiate the agreement of audit terms of reference and audit recommendations with Commissioners and Business Managers, and track the implementation of recommendations contained in audit reports during their placement.
* Work will include planning and completing interviews with staff at all levels, using different types of questioning to maximize information obtained. Monitor interview results, be alert to indications of fraud or irregularities, and report accordingly.
* The ideal candidate will have experience in analytical reviews in complex situations, with knowledge of sampling techniques, computer-assisted techniques, outputs, and interpretation.
* Practical experience with ICT systems to facilitate audit assignments is required. Experience with the Pentana audit management system would be beneficial.
The ideal candidate:
* Must be able to work independently, present complex issues clearly, and handle conflicts persuasively.
* Should hold a relevant professional qualification and have good verbal and written communication skills.
* Previous internal audit experience, preferably in a local authority, is essential.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm (flexible working arrangements).
Position: The role is hybrid, primarily home-based, with occasional attendance in Stafford and other sites, requiring a full driving license and access to a vehicle.
