Overview
This role is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Intensive Personalised Support (IPS) service, with a primary focus on building and strengthening referral pipelines from external stakeholders. The role coordinates a cohesive team to ensure effective intervention delivery, working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. A major emphasis is placed on developing and nurturing relationships with external partners to increase referrals and ensure the service reaches those who need it most. Main duties and responsibilities
* Oversee the coordination and conversion of incoming referrals to the IPS service, ensuring high-quality behavioural support for children, young people and families, with families at the centre of decisions.
* Develop and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders, promoting a positive image of the service and securing additional referrals.
* Represent the IPS service at conferences and professional events, engaging with commissioners and social workers to communicate goals, achievements and impact, gather feedback and raise visibility.
* Review multidisciplinary reports and social care assessments, conduct functional assessments of behaviours and risk assessments, and collaborate with clients and professionals to implement interventions.
* Act as Head of Service in absence to ensure continuity of service operations.
* Provide ongoing supervision, guidance and coaching to support team development and high-quality service delivery.
* Contribute to recruitment and ensure comprehensive training for new IPS team members.
* Assist in the daily management of support workers and Assistant Psychologists; manage case allocations and scheduling, including rotas and annual leave.
* Monitor and review processes to ensure team efficiency; provide feedback and support to staff and families; address poor practice and culture concerns.
* Ensure service delivery is reviewed regularly for each client; collaborate with the young person/adult and their key supporters in assessments, target setting and reviews.
* Share insights from the service to benefit stakeholders through case studies and feedback; promote and grow the service.
* Ensure adherence to ABL policies and procedures across behaviour support, quality assurance, safeguarding, data protection, HR, and health and safety.
* Maintain up-to-date records and ensure documentation is supplied to relevant authorities as required.
* Identify potential issues and proactively manage risks; provide on-call support and work flexibly to meet service needs.
* Support promotion and growth objectives of the service.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Essentials – Minimum of 2 years within a managerial / supervisory role.
* Desirables – Registered Social Worker; Level 5 or above management qualification.
Experience
* Essentials – Experience of management in an OFSTED / CQC registered environment; understanding of Health, CCGs, and local authority children’s and adults’ services; familiarity with CQC governance; experience in health and social care; ability to communicate complex information clearly.
* Desirables – Experience of working with children/young people and families in a community setting; safeguarding-aware practice in a therapeutic context.
