Are you ready to make a difference in the water & waste industry? Southern Water is recruiting an Instrumentation, Control and Automation Technician to support water processing for public use.
Your responsibilities include maintaining, repairing, modifying, configuring, commissioning, calibrating, and installing plant instrumentation, control, and monitoring equipment across the Southern Water region. This role involves occasional paid out-of-hours work and on-call scheduling.
Your responsibilities:
* Fault finding, calibration, testing, investigation, and programming of telemetry, flow meters, detectors, control systems, turbidity, and other measurement meters.
* Implement process improvements via control system modifications and diagnose and fix complex process and control system faults.
* Conduct planned maintenance and calibrate instrumentation to Southern Water standards.
* Respond to instrumentation faults within Southern Water parameters.
* Investigate instruments and process problems, identify faults, and implement remedial actions.
* Complete documentation accurately to maintain standards and accreditation.
* Implement control system modifications to improve process control or compliance.
* Coach and train team members.
Skills and experience needed:
* NVQ3 in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a time-served apprenticeship.
* Experience in process-oriented industries such as water utility, petrochemical, electricity, or manufacturing.
* Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
* Instrumentation, control, or automation experience.
* Strong documentation and regulatory compliance skills.
* Good communication skills and enthusiasm for learning.
* Full UK driving license.
