HSE Compliance Manager

The Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance Manager to join a leading UK manufacturer within the food and packaging industry, based near Canterbury, Kent .
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring legal compliance across all HSE aspects, managing company systems to ISO 14001 and 45001 standards, and supporting continuous improvement in workplace safety, wellbeing, and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities Ensure full legal compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
Maintain and manage ISO 14001 and 45001 management systems and associated audits.
Review and update risk assessments, safe systems of work, policies, and procedures.
Lead site HSE inspections, internal audits, and corrective action plans.
Deliver training, toolbox talks, and inductions to promote safety and environmental awareness.
Support investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and preventive actions.
Manage COSHH and DSE assessments, occupational health surveillance, and wellbeing initiatives.
Collaborate with management and HR to ensure compliance with health surveillance and employee wellbeing strategies.
Prepare HSE KPI and Board Reports, maintaining accurate training and certification records.
Act as key contact for external audits and regulatory bodies including the HSE and Environment Agency.
About You NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma (minimum) with significant experience in an HSE role.
Experienced in managing HSE systems within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.
Skilled in internal auditing, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
Highly organised, self-motivated, and proactive with strong IT literacy.
