The UK’s fastest growing supermarket has an opportunity for you to join them in a fast-paced and exciting role as a Category Buyer. You’ll be responsible for delivering the business’ Procurement strategy alongside a National Procurement Manager.
The role will involve working with internal stakeholders, Global Procurement department and external suppliers, you will be responsible for tendering and negotiating contracts and managing suppliers for goods and services not for resale across Facilities Management, IT, Marketing Services, Property, Recruitment, Store Merchandising & Supply Chain operations.
SALARY- £34, rising to £40,
LOCATION- Atherstone (hybrid working 3 days in the office)

Category Buyer responsibilities:
5. Supporting category analysis using your ability and experience to identify and deliver cost savings, efficiencies, improvements and drive innovation in the supply base
6. Deliver the end- to- end tender process with the National Procurement Manager, including:
7. Initial stakeholder engagement & baselining
8. Sourcing requirements definition
9. Supply Market Research & Engagement
10. Tender build, launch and process management
11. Post-tender evaluation
12. Supplier shortlisting
13. Commercial & contractual negotiations
14. Final evaluation & analysis
15. Supplier selection
16. Contract recommendation & award
17. Proactive interrogation of spend data to identify cost reduction opportunities
18. Negotiation of contractual terms and conditions
Previous category buyer or national procurement assistant experience is required.
