CarmichaelUK are seeking a Section Engineer to join the Structures team on a major highways scheme in Gloucestershire. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a long-term project delivering significant improvements to the local infrastructure.
Role
As a Section Engineer, you will be responsible for managing subcontractors and supervising Site Engineers on the delivery of key structural works. You will ensure safe and efficient construction on site, while also taking ownership of key technical documentation and quality compliance.
Responsibilities
Managing subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to specification.
Supervising and supporting Site Engineers on day-to-day operations.
Preparing and reviewing method statements, risk assessments (RAMS), and inspection/test plans (ITPs).
Overseeing quality assurance, ensuring works meet project and industry standards.
Coordinating with the wider project team to resolve technical issues.
Supporting the planning and reporting of progress, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
Skills & Experience
Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
Proven experience in a Section Engineer role, ideally within highways or large-scale structures.
Strong knowledge of documentation processes (RAMS, ITPs, QA).
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
CSCS card essential; SMSTS/SSSTS desirable
