Locations: 2 Posts – Preston based at County Hall / Hyndburn based at Lancashire House, Accrington
Overview
The Pupil Access Team is part of the School Improvement Service and its remit is to ensure the Local Authority fulfils its statutory duties in relation to school admissions, home to school transport, school admission appeals and free school meals.
Key responsibilities
* Work in a very busy office environment, communicating with parents, partner agencies and stakeholders, often delivering difficult messages.
* Use communication skills in a variety of situations such as school admission appeals and school Open Evenings.
* Use technical skills to undertake the work of the Pupil Access Team, ensuring that information and data is kept up to date within the education management system.
Qualifications
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work independently, maintain good records and work as part of a team.
* Experience of using Microsoft Office computer software as well as specialised ICT systems.

There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will attend the office base at least twice per week. During the induction and training process there may be a requirement for a more full‑time presence.
