With continued investment and growth in its in-house advocacy offering, the organisation is now seeking a senior advocate to play a key role in both technical delivery and team leadership.
Your new role
This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced Solicitor Advocate or Barrister to take onplex, high-value litigation work while also shaping the direction of a growing advocacy team.
You will operate independently, without supervision, undertaking the most technically demanding advocacy, advisory and drafting work. In addition, you will play a significant role in mentoring junior lawyers, supporting team development and contributing to client strategy and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Handle a broad range ofplex advocacy matters, including: multi-track trials and high-value hearings,plex interlocutory applications and CCMCs, JSMs, sanctions, recoveries and specialist proceedings.
2. Draft and settle high-value andplex pleadings
3. Provide strategic legal advice to senior stakeholders and clients
4. Travel to North West courts.
5. Develop and maintain at least one recognised niche specialism
6. Act as a key technical resource across core practice areas
7. Supervise and mentor junior advocates
8. Assist with, or lead, the management of sub-teams
9. Deliver training and legal updates across the wider business
10. Build strong relationships with key clients and internal stakeholders
11. Contribute to product development and client-facing initiatives
12. Support the growth and market profile of the in-house advocacy team
What you'll need to succeed
13. Qualified Barrister (practising certificate) or Solicitor Advocate with Higher Rights of Audience
14. 7+ years’ PQE or call
15. Proven track record as an advocate across multiple disciplines
16. Strong experience in at least three of the following: insurance fraud, personal injury (EL/PL), large loss, costs or professional negligence
17. Demonstrable technical excellence and ability to handleplex litigation independently
18. Experience mentoring or managing junior team members
19. Strongmercial awareness and client-facing capability
20. Established reputation as a trusted advisor internally and externally
