The Role

As a PSHE Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ personal, social, health, and economic education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience and school requirements. You will deliver engaging, thought-provoking lessons that help students navigate adolescence and develop the skills they need for future success.

* Differentiate learning to support students of all abilities and backgrounds.

* Encourage exploration of key life skills, including emotional wellbeing, relationships, financial literacy, resilience, and citizenship.

* Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support personal development.

* Support students in developing confidence, self-awareness, and resilience alongside their academic journey.

* Contribute to the ongoing development of the PSHE curriculum and departmental initiatives.

* Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.

* Manage behaviour effectively in line with the school’s policies.

* Participate in wider school life, including enrichment activities and extracurricular initiatives.

* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues to support student welfare.

-----------------------------------

What We’re Looking For

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

* A relevant degree or experience in areas such as PSHE, Sociology, Psychology, or Health Education.

* Experience teaching PSHE at secondary school level (or relevant training placements for ECTs).

* Strong subject knowledge and a genuine commitment to supporting students’ personal and social development.

* Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.

* A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.

* An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

-----------------------------------

What the School Offers

* Competitive pay (MPS/UPS or daily rate, depending on experience and contract type).

* Ongoing CPD and professional development opportunities.

* A welcoming and collaborative staff team.

* Opportunities for progression and additional responsibility within the PSHE department.

* Modern facilities and well-resourced teaching environments.

* Strong emphasis on staff wellbeing and work-life balance.

* Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement.
