Skilled Trades Teacher (SEN & SEMH Setting)
A nurturing independent specialist school in Tameside is looking for a Skilled Trades Teacher to join their close-knit school (ECTs and unqualified teachers welcome).
This is a unique opportunity to join this well-established education group in supporting pupils with diverse needs. The school are looking for a Skilled Trades Teacher with proven experience of working with SEND or SEMH pupils. You will be inspring students though skilled trades such as plastering and joinery and making a real difference in their lives.
Job description:
* Planning and delivering engaging Plastering and Joinery lessons, to KS4 & KS5 pupils with complex SEMH, ASC and other learning needs
* Alongside the curriculum, providing emotional regulation and sensory support
* Promoting independence and confidence through tailored, nurture-focused learning
* Tracking progress and contribute to EHCP processes
* Preparing pupils for transition to KS4 and KS5
* Working hours: 8:15am - 4pm
* Starting asap/September
* Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 (Pro rata - Term Time - Only 39 Weeks)
Person specification:
* Experience of teaching, preferably in a SEN setting
* City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2/3+ and/or significant industry experience
* Experience teaching in SEND, PRU, or with learners with SEMH needs is desireable
* Experience of adapting teaching to various needs
* Ability to work effectively in a team
* Adaptable, resilient and empathetic attitude
* Relevant vocational qualifications
