A well-established law firm in Devon is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Probate Solicitor to join its Private Client department. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of probate matters, including estate administration, inheritance tax issues, and providing advice on wills and estate planning. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with strong technical knowledge and exceptional client care skills to join a supportive and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a varied caseload of probate and estate administration matters from start to finish
* Provide expert legal advice on wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, inheritance tax, and intestacy
* Draft and review legal documents including wills and trust deeds
* Liaise with executors, beneficiaries, HMRC, and other relevant stakeholders
* Prepare applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and SRA regulations
* Maintain high standards of client care and build long-term client relationships
* Contribute to business development and networking initiatives as required
Qualifications / Experience
* Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales (3+ years PQE preferred, though NQ candidates with relevant experience will be considered)
* Proven experience in probate and estate administration
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
* Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
* Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office
* STEP qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential
