About the role
Balfour Beatty have an exciting new opportunity for a Logistics Manager to join our Viking Link Project
You will provide overall control, management and take sole responsibility for the project logistics and assist Project Managers in the management of the logistics required to deliver sections of a larger scale project.
What you'll be doing
1. Overall responsibility for the successful management of the project logistics required to support the day to day delivery of construction activities across the project
2. Set in place process and procedures for the management of logistic items including; Welfare facilities, consumables, plant and equipment and the management of these process and procedures including KPI reporting
3. Awareness of budget, cost control and cost recovery, ensuring that expenditure is in line with the contract budget and that resources are utilised efficiently
4. Procurement of multiple packages to meet logistical requirements including negotiating deals with supply chain partners
5. Planning of all logistical activities over project life cycle
6. Management of the mobilisation and demobilisation of multiple welfare facilities at project construction compounds including procurement and programming of utility service connection
7. Liaison with multiple site teams to understand requirements and putting solutions in place
8. Management of Site Security and liaison with emergency services
9. Stakeholder engagement & management including Local Highway Authorities and Port Authorities
10. Organising & liaison with consultants for traffic management plans, air quality & noise monitoring plans and implementation of the plans
11. Ensure all team members are fully inducted and carry out role specific requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement
Who we're looking for
12. A successful track record in managing logistical operational delivery within a construction environment
13. CSCS Card and SMSTS qualified; must be willing to become First Aid qualified
14. Holds a current driving license
