JOB PURPOSE This role leads and advances engineering projects for fuel injection systems across the aftermarket (AFM), Original Equipment Supplier This role will support the business in delivering technical related solutions in the fuel injection systems engineering team - within the PHINIA Aftermarket. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Support and testing: Lead customer field trial activity and manage new to range (NTR) product launches. Responsible for all aftermarket engineering activity for heavy duty fuel injection systems. Facilitate internal fuel system product training for engineering personnel. Support heavy duty remanufacturing engineering activity when required. Provide technical expertise to the Global Engineering manager and the business on all work aspects that are within the remit of the product engineers role. To provide comprehensive technical/engineering expertise on the product groups under the fuel injection systems portfolio for the aftermarket, OES and remanufacturing channels. Documentation & Systems: Support the creation, maintenance and archiving systems of the global documentation: specifications, BOMs, global requirements, benchmarking, and design reviews. Load engineering data into relevant systems such as AS400, SAP and PIM system. Develop new and manage existing CAD drawings related to fuel injection system products in the aftermarket portfolio. Develop technical documentation such as product specifications, bill of materials, global technical requirements, product benchmarking and design review reports and processes To ensure that engineering changes are documented, and the Aftermarket commercial and technical systems are efficiently updated. Project support: Support engineering activities to deliver new or improve existing manufacturing processes for remanufacturing / re-processing fuel system products and/or components Work with Engineering Manager on capital expenditure projects from concept through to implementation, leveraging lean principles, new technologies, and external suppliers to meet customer requirements. Lead engineering response to customer support and service enquires escalated to engineering. To support projects by providing technical expertise on equipment, products, and the compilation of support documentation for use in both workshop and garage environments. Responsible for developing and/or reverse engineering remanufacturing methodologies on competitor components/products Provide technical guidance to the Global Engineering team. Support reverse engineering activities including competitor components/products to develop remanufacturing methodologies. Oversee customer field trials where required. Collaboration and Liaison: Lead engineering development and validation of heavy-duty parts, software, tooling etc when sourced/supplied from third party supplier or allied plants. Liaise with PHINIA and third-party suppliers to maximize AFT efficiency and business revenue. Provide technical expertise to the Global Engineering manager and the business on all work aspects that are within the remit of the product engineers role. Support the quality team to investigate quality issues or product concerns. Liaise with the business product line, purchasing, and supplier quality teams ensuring alignment on new product launches. Job Authorities PE sign-off authority for the topics covered. Ownership of audit and testing strategies Decision-making authority on engineering changes and customer-driven adaptation Skills Strong mechanical aptitude for automotive components. Hands-on experience with production processes including automation, assembly, end-of-line testing, and material handling for electrical/electro-mechanical components. Proficiency in CAD; SolidWorks preferred (other platforms considered). Experience in design and testing and validation of fuel injection system products is an advantage. Experience & Qualifications Mandatory Degree in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering qualification (minimum HNC), with some industrial and engineering experience will be considered Minimum of 2 years of experience in the automotive and or aftermarket Experience with lab testing and metrology equipment. Experience in fuel systems, hands on, assembly, dis-assembly & testing Familiarity with electro-mechanical devices and lab equipment Desirable Experience working in a global or cross-functional engineering environment.
