The team is recognised for its commercial approach, technical expertise, and commitment to outstanding client service.</p><p>The successful candidate will manage a substantial and varied caseload of employment matters, advising clients on a broad range of workplace issues. The role will also involve undertaking advocacy where appropriate, including representation at hearings and tribunals. Working closely with the Head of Employment, you will play an integral role in supporting the continued growth and success of the department.</p><p>This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated and commercially minded employment professional to develop their career within a dynamic and supportive environment.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Manage a varied caseload of complex matters that will include:</li><li>Providing employment law advice to education and commercial clients.</li><li>Drafting advice reports, supporting clients with processes and other documentation such as settlement agreements.</li><li>Assisting clients with HR processes and procedures.</li><li>Handling cases through tribunal proceedings; and</li><li>Providing support on employment issues arising in transactions.</li><li>Provide ongoing technical support on matters for junior fee-earners.</li><li>Ensure personal Employment knowledge is kept up to date and new advancements are communicated to the wider team.</li><li>Assist the team with any reasonable requests that are in the best interests of the department.</li></ul><h3>Skills, Knowledge and Expertise</h3><p>You will:</p><ul><li>Have experience dealing with contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.</li><li>Possess good knowledge and understanding of tribunal procedures and protocols</li><li>Have a high level of knowledge and understanding of employment law</li><li>Ideally have an excellent academic background</li><li>Possess exceptional client care skills</li><li>Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office</li><li>Be highly motivated and able to add value to the role</li><li>Be able to demonstrate proactive management of matters with a minimum of supervision</li><li>Be a team player and able to get on with others</li><li>Possess networking and client development skills</li></ul><p>Disclosure will be required in the event that a position is offered.</p><h3>Benefits</h3><p>What we offer?</p><ul><li>Competitive salary</li><li>Bonus potential</li><li>Great working environment at our Derby head offices</li><li>Car parking provided by the firm</li><li>Career development opportunities</li><li>27 days holiday plus bank holidays</li><li>Options to buy & sell 1 week’s holiday</li><li>1 week’s holiday carry over</li><li>Extra day off for your birthday</li><li>Staff card discount scheme for local shops</li><li>Social days and evenings on the firm</li><li>Staff discounts on legal services</li></ul></div>
