Security Officer – Cambridge University Hospitals
We are recruiting for Security Officers at Cambridge University Hospitals.
Role Overview
The role of a Security Officer is to support the Trust Security department in the delivery of security services to the Trust.
Responsibilities
* Provide direct immediate response to all Trust security incidents, managing the situation as the first responder, and making assessments for wider escalation in keeping with a security and healthcare environment.
* Be involved daily in high level impact and intense situations, requiring the regular use of conflict management and physical intervention, resulting in a physical and mentally demanding role.
* Provide a security presence by undertaking regular patrols, both externally and internally, around the Trust, interacting with site users, observing for any suspicious activity, and undertaking dynamic risk assessments of the situation to deal with as appropriate.
* Maintain a professional approach to their work and respond in a rapid manner to all security and emergency incidents.

* Minimum salary threshold required for a certificate of sponsorship above the starting point of the Agenda for Change band for this role.
* Full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa unless they have applied for a Graduate visa, completed their course and applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date, or the Trust sponsors them as a Skilled Worker with studies completed within 3 months of the start date.
* Applicants from NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough who have identified that they are at risk of redundancy will be prioritised over those not at risk, though interviews cannot be guaranteed.
Application Process
* Successful candidates will be added to a centralised pool for 6 months. During this time an allocation will be sourced. Candidates will be removed and potentially withdrawn if an allocation cannot be confirmed after 6 months.
* Vacancy closes midnight on 15 March 2026.
* Interviews are due to be held on 2 April 2026.
