In this role, you will serve as a key technical and commercial expert, fostering high-value relationships and managing complex trading activities. You will work with a high degree of autonomy within a supportive international environment, ensuring our client remains a competitive leader in the global steel market.
In this Steel Sales & Trading Manager role, your key responsibilities will involve:
* Cultivate Market Growth: Lead the management of sales and trading operations for steel products, identifying new opportunities and expanding the client’s footprint across the UK.
* Nurture Client Relationships: Maintain and deepen connections with existing customers while proactively welcoming new clients through thoughtful engagement and expert service.
* Facilitate Strategic Negotiations: Execute trading contracts that align with commercial objectives, ensuring all agreements are robust, fair, and operationally sound.
* Provide Insightful Analysis: Conduct regular market research on pricing and supply trends, sharing detailed reports with the global headquarters to inform strategic decision-making.
* Coordinate Global Logistics: Oversee trade operations, including the careful planning of logistics and shipment coordination to ensure reliable delivery for our clients.
To be successful in this Steel Sales & Trading Manager position, you will need solid experience with carbon steel flat products, especially cold rolled coils, for end markets such as construction, electrical home appliances, and distribution (coils service centres) etc. In addition, we are looking for candidates with:
* Extensive Industry Expertise: A minimum of 5 years of experience in steel sales or trading, demonstrating a thorough understanding of global market dynamics.
* Proven Sector Background: Prior experience in domestic sales or business operations within a major steel manufacturer in the UK is highly valued.
