Lead Inpatient Phlebotomy Tech Position Summary
The Lead Inpatient Phlebotomy Tech interacts with patients, visitors, and other health care providers to collect, transport and process blood and other body fluids from a full spectrum of the patient population. The Lead Inpatient Phlebotomy Tech is proficient in all areas of phlebotomy and leads the department by their example. He/she serves as a resource person for the section and assists the Inpatient Phlebotomy Coordinator in the management and supervision of the Inpatient Phlebotomy Department. The Lead Inpatient Phlebotomist participates in educational and training activities and may participate in the performance of routine administrative and non-routine technical functions.
Lead Inpatient Phlebotomy Tech Position Requirements
Education
* Successful completion of an approved training program consisting of both lectures and practical application in phlebotomy or comparable education or experience.
Experience
* Three years phlebotomy experience with proficiency in all areas.
* Must be currently employed in a full time inpatient phlebotomy position.
Lead Inpatient Phlebotomy Tech Schedule
* Phlebotomy Techs are routinely scheduled five days a week, which includes a Saturday rotation.
* Shift times and lengths vary but are primarily day shift.
* Rotational coverage of holidays if needed.
* Expected to work overtime and/or additional weekends in times of staffing shortages, emergencies and unexpected increases in workload.
* Expected to respond in the event of a disaster.
Lead Inpatient Phlebotomy Tech Benefits
* At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
