Senior Solicitor – Property

Hours: 37 hours per week (part‑time applications considered)
The council is looking to recruit a Senior Solicitor or Legal Executive to join the Legal Services team. The role is suitable for a commercial property solicitor or Legal Executive with over 4 years PQE. The council owns a portfolio of commercial and operational properties including retail, industrial, and office buildings. The work will involve a wide range of non‑contentious matters, focusing on landlord and tenant work relating to the retail property portfolio, and will also include advising on other commercial property matters, proposed development sites and other council matters as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
* Progress property transactions with minimal supervision.
* Collaborate with the council’s property team on commercial property matters.
* Provide advice on landlord and tenant issues for the council’s retail property portfolio.
* Advise on proposed development sites and other council matters as required.
Qualifications:
* Commercial property solicitor or Legal Executive with over 4 years PQE.
* Experience in private practice or local government knowledge is welcomed.
* Capacity to work independently while controlling a range of matters.
