Job Description
We are urgently recruiting experienced tutors to support looked-after children and asylum-seeking young people in Brighton & Hove. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable learners who need tailored, compassionate educational support.
Role Overview
We are seeking dedicated tutors to deliver high-quality, 1:1 tuition across a range of subjects and levels:
* ESOL (up to Level 2)
Student Profile
You will be supporting children and young people who:
* Are looked-after or asylum seekers
* Are working below age-related expectations
* May have Special Educational Needs (SEN) including:
o ADHD
o Dyslexia
o Dyscalculia
o ODD
o SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs)
* Often experience high anxiety and may be emotionally based school avoiders
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years UK teaching or tutoring experience
* QTS and PGCE essential(Exception: ESOL tutors must hold a Level 5 ESOL qualification)
* Strong understanding of SEN and trauma-informed approaches
* Ability to build trust and engage vulnerable learners

* Location: Brighton & Hove
* Pay: £30 - £32.50 per hour
* Hours:
o Morning sessions (URGENT)
o Afternoon sessions (URGENT)
o After school
* Commitment: 1-5 hours per student per week
* Positions: Multiple tutors required
