An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Tyne & Wear, catering for children and young people from Year 6 to Year 11 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and resilient teacher who can confidently teach Mathematics up to GCSE level, including Functional Skills and KS3 Maths. You do not need to be a Maths specialist, but you should have experience delivering Maths in a school setting and a willingness to adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of learners with SEMH.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and accessible Maths lessons tailored to the needs of SEMH learners

Teach Maths across KS3 and KS4, including Functional Skills and GCSE content
*
Create a positive, supportive classroom environment where students feel safe and encouraged
*
Adapt your teaching to meet a range of learning styles and emotional needs
*
Collaborate with a skilled team of educators, therapists, and support staff
*
Provide consistent pastoral support and contribute to students’ personal development
*
Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate:
*
Qualified Teacher with experience in a SEND or SEMH setting (or a strong willingness to develop in this area)
*
Confident teaching Maths up to GCSE level (Maths specialism not required)
*
Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills
*
Resilient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to teaching
*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
