The Shore Group have been retained on behalf of a prestigious £250 Million + Fit Out Main Contractor who are known for executing exquisite CAT A and B Office Fit Outs across the UK. As part of their continued strategic growth, they are seeking to appoint a high-calibre Head of Commercial to lead one of their businesses situated in the heart of London.
As Head of Commercial this person will assume responsibility for the estimating and commercial management of their designated project portfolio, with individual project values currently ranging between £5 million and £20 million.
This individual will be fully immersed in all aspects of the commercial function, including estimating, preconstruction, procurement, contract negotiation, profit and loss reporting, and final account settlement. They will oversee the full lifecycle of each project from a commercial perspective, ensuring integrity, consistency, and control throughout. Crucially, they will also be tasked with developing and implementing a long-term commercial strategy— one that supports the business’s growth ambitions and lays the foundation for a scalable, high-performing commercial team.

Due the nature of the role, this person will ideally closely match the following:
* Currently operating within a reputable traditional fit-out contractor or the fit-out division of a Tier 1 main contractor. D&B experience will also be considered where relevant to detail-and-build delivery models.
* Proven experience operating as the commercial lead on high-value office or commercial fit-out projects (£10m+).
* Strong experience in client-facing roles, including regular interface with client organisations and their appointed professional teams.
* Strong presentation skills, with the skillset to set proposals apart from competitors.
* Experience in dispute resolution and commercial risk management is advantageous.
* Demonstrated experience in the negotiation of contract terms and conditions across a range of procurement models.
* Evidence of leadership capability, including direct team management or the development and mentoring of junior commercial staff.
* Degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor with a strong technical background and professional gravitas.
