Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing Maintenance
Location: Welwyn Garden City
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Tier One contractor specialising in property services. This role will focus on the delivery of reactive maintenance and voids works to social housing properties in and around Welwyn Garden City.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will take ownership of the commercial function on a busy social housing maintenance contract, ensuring the cost-effective delivery of reactive repairs and void refurbishments. You will work closely with operational teams, subcontractors, and the client to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the commercial aspects of reactive maintenance and voids works
2. Prepare and submit accurate cost reports and valuations
3. Monitor budgets, cost control, and financial forecasting
4. Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring best value
5. Ensure compliance with NHF Schedule of Rates (SOR) where applicable
6. Support contract management and ensure financial procedures are followed
Key Requirements:
7. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the social housing or property maintenance sector
8. Strong understanding of reactive maintenance and voids processes
9. Familiarity with NHF Schedule of Rates (SOR) highly desirable
10. Excellent communication and negotiation skills
11. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
12. Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
