Start: ASAP or January Location: Colchester We are seeking a dedicated Primary SEN Teacher to join our mainstream school’s SEN Provision, supporting pupils across EYFS to KS2 with a variety of additional and complex learning needs. You will lead a small class of 5–7 pupils, supported by an experienced Learning Support Assistant, delivering engaging and individualised learning that meets each child’s developmental stage and EHCP targets. About the Role: Teach a small class within the school’s SEN provision, adapting lessons for pupils working at varying levels. Plan and deliver high-quality, creative learning experiences tailored to individual needs. Use a range of SEN strategies, including visual supports, sensory breaks, structured routines, and differentiated learning tasks. Work closely with support staff, therapists, and the SENCO to ensure consistent, child-centred provision. Create a nurturing, predictable classroom environment that supports emotional regulation and positive behaviour. Track and record progress, contributing to reviews and personalised learning plans. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Primary specialism or strong SEN experience. Experience working with pupils with SEN, such as Autism, ADHD, communication needs, or learning delays. Ability to plan differentiated learning for mixed-ability groups. A calm, patient, and supportive approach to behaviour and emotional needs. What We Offer: Small class sizes with strong LSA support.
