Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on AWS DevOps Engineer to join a leading organisation and support their BI function. This is a solo DevOps role within BI – you’ll be the subject matter expert, owning CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and deployments across the BI data platform. You’ll work closely with a BI Technical Architect and developers, but your focus is strictly DevOps – coding, automation, and ensuring reliable deployments – not building BI reports or ETL pipelines.
What you’ll be doing
* Own and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for BI infrastructure and reporting deployments
* Manage AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform (IaC) and YAML
* Deploy and automate changes across AWS (Redshift, S3, Lambda, etc.) into dev, test, and production environments
* Write and maintain automation scripts in Python to streamline deployments and monitoring
* Administer Power BI deployment pipelines (not development – purely release management)
* Act as the DevOps SME in BI, reviewing existing processes and driving further automation
* Collaborate with BI developers, data engineers, and central DevOps teams to ensure smooth releases
What we’re looking for
* Proficiency with Terraform, GitHub Actions, YAML
* Hands-on coding with Python for automation and tooling
* Track record of managing CI/CD pipelines and deployments into cloud environments
* 5+ years’ experience as a DevOps Engineer (mid-senior level)
* Someone who enjoys hands-on coding more than stakeholder management – this is a delivery-focused role
Nice to have
* Experience with Power BI deployment pipelines/admin (not development)
* Familiarity with Redshift SQL or data platforms (beneficial, not essential)
* AWS certifications (Architect/DevOps Pro)
* Be the first DevOps Engineer in the BI function – the go-to person for all things DevOps
