Travel Programme Manager – Mandarin Speaking

Overview
A leading UK-based education organisation is hiring a bilingual Programme Manager to oversee the design and delivery of cross-cultural educational travel programmes between the UK and China. This role combines strategic planning, team leadership, and international stakeholder coordination to create exceptional global learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Design & Execution
* Build and manage educational itineraries for students and school leaders
* Coordinate travel logistics: flights, accommodation, cultural visits, and risk protocols
* Ensure trips meet educational goals, budget constraints, and safety standards
Team Management
* Oversee China-based operations team
* Provide onboarding, coaching, and performance feedback
* Manage cross-border workflows and ensure smooth communication between UK and China teams
Partner & Stakeholder Relations
* Liaise with schools, travel suppliers, and education bureaus in both countries
* Support the creation and continuation of exchange partnerships
* Maintain compliance with relevant safeguarding and regulatory frameworks
Administration & Reporting
* Produce essential documentation: itineraries, risk assessments, feedback reports
* Use digital platforms to track progress and share updates with leadership
Requirements
Candidate Requirements
Essential
* Proficient in Mandarin and English (written and spoken)
* Experience in education, student exchanges, or travel programme coordination
* Experience leading remote teams or working across borders
* Strong planning, project management, and communication skills
* Confident using platforms like Microsoft 365, Zoom, WeChat, and task management tools (e.g., Monday.com)
* Eligible to work full-time in the UK for at least 2 more years (if not a UK citizen)
* Willing to undergo enhanced DBS background check
Preferred
* Degree in education, international relations, or tourism
* Familiarity with China-UK education systems and risk procedures
* Experience working with the Chinese government or educational institutions
