People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Solihull, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-known supplier of household goods with plenty of ongoing work available.
This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Shifts :
Monday to Friday: start times between 03:00 and 06:00
Weekend availability if required
Rates of Pay :
Monday to Friday £17.00 per hour
Saturday £18.00 per hour
Sunday £19.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties :
As a HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
Operating and driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured correctly
Adhering to all traffic laws and transport regulations
Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
Maintaining accurate records of shipments, mileage, and fuel usage
Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements to management
Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required
Essential Skills :
As a HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
Valid UK Category CE driving licence
Minimum of twelve months Category CE driving experience
No more than six penalty points (no major endorsements)
Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
Good level of spoken and written English
Experience operating various trailer types
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
Excellent communication skills
Flexibility to work overtime when required
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable Experience :
Previous commercial driving experience across multiple vehicle types
Training Provided :
Industry-related training and ongoing support provided throughout your assignment
