We’re representing a leading Japanese bank in their search for an Analytics Governance Analyst to join their newly formed Analytics Centre of Excellence. This is a strategic hire into the EMEA Data & Analytics team, which is driving the design and rollout of an Analytics Governance Framework to support regulatory compliance and enterprise-wide consistency.
The role sits at the intersection of data governance and analytics development, with a focus on the identification, cataloguing and governance of Key Data Outputs (KDOs) – including metrics, dashboards, reports and models. You’ll also support key regulatory and internal programmes, including ECB onboarding and a global BCBS 239 compliance initiative led out of EMEA.
Key responsibilities:
* Work across the business to identify and document Key Data Outputs (KDOs)
* Catalogue and manage KDOs and associated metadata using Collibra
* Contribute to the build and rollout of an Analytics Governance Framework aligned to existing data governance principles
* Support EUC remediation work to address inconsistencies across EMEA
* Help align EMEA practices with a global BCBS 239 programme, ensuring local implementation of governance standards
* Partner with stakeholders across risk, finance, compliance, operations and front office to understand analytics usage and governance requirements
* Support efforts to prepare for ECB onboarding by establishing appropriate governance across KDOs used in external and regulatory reporting
What we’re looking for:
* Strong understanding of BCBS 239 and demonstrable experience applying its principles within a financial institution
* Hands-on experience working with analytics products (e.g. reports, models, KPIs, dashboards)
* Familiarity with Collibra (or an equivalent) for metadata management or data/analytics cataloguing
* Exposure to EUC governance and remediation activities
* Solid grasp of data and analytics governance principles
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work across functions and geographies
* Background in financial services or banking is essential
Interview process:
* First round: Technical and experience-based interview with data governance and analytics team members
* Final round: Technical and competency-based interview with senior team leadership
This is a rare opportunity to join a greenfield analytics governance function with visibility across the entire EMEA business and a direct impact on regulatory compliance and operational excellence. If you meet the profile and are ready to help shape best practice from day one, we’d welcome your application.
