We are looking to appoint a Speciality Doctor in our Oral Surgery team, for a fixed term of 1 year to cover maternity leave. This will be an 8.25PA contract covering Tuesdays to Fridays and happy to accept part-time/job share applicants.
The postholder will be expected to carry out face to face assessments, and a range of oral surgery treatments, both under local anaesthetic and general anaesthetic.
The Speciality Doctor is expected to participate in all aspects of the work of the department under the general direction of the Consultants, including out-patient clinics and day surgery operating sessions.
There is no on-call commitment attached to this post.

Summary of training and educational objectives:
Develop skills in the performance of exodontia and minor oral surgery
Develop a further understanding of the dental assessment and management of patients requiring bone protection medication, radiotherapy and cardiac valve replacement surgery.
Develop a further understanding of the assessment and management of patients presenting with complex orthodontic/oral surgery needs.
Develop a further understanding of the assessment and management of patients requiring outpatient treatment under Intravenous sedation
Develop skills in managing commonly encountered oral medicine pathologies.
Develop an understanding of the management of medically compromised patients requiring dental or oral surgery treatment.
