We are proud to be the sole provider of Prosthetic and Orthotics services for the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Standford Hall.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Prosthetist-Orthotist to join our small team at this unique facility.
The role
As Prosthetist-Orthotist, provide and promote a high standard of prosthetic and orthotic care and treatment across a range of amputation levels and patient pathologies ensuring best practice is applied in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
* Providing a high standard of prosthetic and orthotic care to all patients across a range of amputation levels and pathologies.
* Assessing, measuring, casting and fitting patients and rectifying models, using traditional methods and CADCAM where appropriate
* Ensuring that patients’ individual needs are respected with an emphasis on clear explanations of proposed interventions
* Prioritising workload and using time effectively to meet deadlines.
* Identifying service improvements to ensure efficient and effective use of resources
* Developing a good relationship with work colleagues in the clinical, technical, military and administrative fields
What are we looking for?
As Prosthetist-Orthotist, you will have the following.
* BSc and BSc (Hons) Prosthetics & Orthotics
* HCPC registration
* Membership of BAPO/ISPO
* Previous experience as a Prosthetist/Orthotist working with both upper and lower extremities.
* Previous experience working with trauma patients.
* Good written and oral communications skills
* Team player with the ability to work autonomously
* General IT skills – word, PowerPoint, email
* Driving Licence
