We are an inclusive first school catering for children from Nursery age to Year 4, 3-9 years old. We are looking for an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team working one to one or in a small group with a child that has special educational needs. The Role We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Level 1 Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role includes supporting a specific child and/ or small group of children with their learning and development, as well as providing personal care, including nappy changing, for children who are not yet toilet trained. Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality provision for children with SEND. Assist with the preparation of learning activities and resources. Provide personal care, including nappy changing, in line with school policies and safeguarding procedures. Promote independence, self-esteem, and positive behaviour. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Record and report on children’s progress and wellbeing. Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents and carers. Supporting the learning of children with complex communication needs. Person Specification Essential: A warm, patient, and nurturing approach to working with young children. Willingness to undertake nappy changing and personal care duties. Good communication and teamwork skills. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Basic literacy and numeracy skills. Desirable: Experience working with children that have Special Educational Needs. Experience working with children that have communication difficulties. A relevant Level 1 qualification in Childcare or Teaching Assistance. Paediatric First Aid certification. Performance Management All staff are expected to participate in individual performance management reviews and the personal development planning.
