Sowena Group are partnered with an established Logistics firm, HQ’d in Birmingham, to assist in the hire of a technically strong Management Accountant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and timely management accounts, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring robust financial controls across all entities.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of monthly management accounts for multiple entities within the group
* Consolidation of group financial results and variance analysis
* Production of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
* Analysis of financial performance, identifying trends and key drivers
* Business partnering with operational teams to support decision-making
* Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of accurate financial records
* Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
* Supporting year-end audit processes and statutory reporting
* Monitoring cash flow and working capital across the group
* Continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting systems
Key Requirements
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
* Proven experience in a Management Accountant role
* Experience working with multi-entity/group structures
* Strong knowledge of management accounting and financial reporting
* Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
* Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally
