UX Designer – 9-Month Maternity Cover (Hybrid, London or Birmingham – 3 days a week in-office)

If so, read on. We're looking for a UX Designer to join RICS on a 9-month maternity cover contract, playing a key role in embedding design thinking across the organisation and creating seamless digital experiences for our global membership.
Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities
What will the role involve? As our UX Designer, you'll:
* Solve complex problems for our members through an insight-led UX process.
* Drive and execute UX and UI design across digital platforms.
* Apply service design principles to deliver consistent, omni-channel experiences.
* Contribute to and maintain a design system, promoting consistency across products.
* Conduct and analyse qualitative and quantitative user research.
* Facilitate workshops with a wide range of business stakeholders.
* Partner with analytics, optimisation, and research teams to identify and prioritise new opportunities.
* Be a visible advocate for UX, helping embed user-centred design across RICS.
About You
Who are we looking for? We're looking for a collaborative, insight-driven designer who can balance creativity with practicality. You'll bring:
* Experience turning research insights into effective design solutions.
* Proficiency in tools such as Miro, Figma, Hotjar, or similar.
* Strong experience conducting user research (qualitative and quantitative).
* Knowledge of accessibility best practices and inclusive design.
* Experience working with and contributing to a design system.
* Ability to collaborate confidently with product managers, engineers, researchers, and stakeholders.
* Clear, passionate communication of design process and rationale.
* A portfolio showcasing your design thinking and solutions.
