We are looking to recruit an experienced Engagement Producer to join the cultural development programme team for The Living Barracks, to deliver an inspiring and innovative programme, working with artists and creative practitioners to engage with existing and new audiences. You will be responsible for producing the engagement programme working collaboratively with key staff in the team: the Creative Producer, the Programme Coordinator and 2 Event Apprentices
The programme team is line managed by The Maltings (Berwick) Trust on behalf of the Living Barracks project partners and the post holder will also work closely with the Trust’s Head of Creative Engagement.
Funded by the DCMS Cultural Development Fund, The Living Barracks Cultural programme will be realised through a series of artist-led residencies, commissions and a schools’ programme. The role of the Engagement Producer is crucial to the effective delivery of these projects, within the specified timeframe.
This is a proactive, outward-facing contract and the contract holder will be passionate about engaging the community in creative and cultural projects, and be determined to build and deliver a strong and impactful programme of activity.
Based at Berwick Barracks in Berwick-upon-Tweed, the contract holder will work with the Living Barracks Cultural Engagement team, alongside the Living Barracks partners.
Due to the nature of the Living Barracks programme working remotely and hot desking at various community and cultural spaces in Berwick may be required.
* Responsible to: Head of Creative Engagement, The Maltings (Berwick) Trust
* Responsible for: The post holder will have responsibility for the supervision of Apprentices and freelancers.
* Fixed term post: 1 year: June 2025 – June 2026
The post is funded by the ACE/DCMS Cultural Development Fund (CDF)
Flexible working: Core office hours are 10am – 4pm, Monday to Friday.
We expect this role to require regular work outside these hours; we are willing to consider reasonable proposals for flexible and hybrid working, to be agreed in advance and recorded as a note to signed contracts.
