Job Description
Your Impact
Are you ready to contribute to the continued airworthiness and lifecycle improvements of the international AW101 helicopter fleet?
As a Project Engineer at the Home of British Helicopters, you will work on technically varied and customer-focused projects. Reporting to the AW101 In-Service System Integrator, you'll be responsible for managing engineering aspects related to in-service technical issues and modifications across a global fleet.
This role requires flexibility, cross-functional collaboration, and strong problem-solving skills. You'll engage with stakeholders at all levels of the business and represent the company with external Customers.
Responsibilities will vary depending on your experience but may include
* Managing and coordinating multiple in-service technical issues and aircraft modifications, including associated budgets and schedules — ensuring timely delivery to internal and external customers.
* Understanding and interpreting contractual and certification requirements from in-service customers and certifying authorities.
* Leading or supporting Systems Engineering activities related to the air vehicle and its modifications — including requirements capture, design, qualification, certification, and customer acceptance.
* Acting as a key technical interface between internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
* Supporting the Chief Project Engineer on all matters related to safety and continued airworthiness.
What you'll bring
* Degree level qualification or HNC/HND/BTEC and Apprenticeship or equivalent in mechanical or aeronautical engineering or an allied discipline, with comprehensive working experience.
* Comprehensive understanding of aircraft systems, air vehicle operation, and operational usage.
* Knowledge of certification processes and rotorcraft-specific certification specifications.
* Familiarity with DOORS for requirements management and tracking (desirable).
* Solid understanding of helicopter engineering principles and technical procedures.
* Knowledge of aircraft airworthiness standards and safety protocols.
This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.
For internal applicants only, this is up to a Job Family Framework Level 6 (Engineering) dependent on experience.
