Job Overview
The Trained Nurse role requires the post holder to be committed to the ongoing development of the ward and multi-disciplinary team working. We aim to deliver the highest standard of patient and rehabilitative care to our predominantly elderly patients. The ideal applicant will possess good organisational, communication and clinical skills relevant to the post and be able to act as a positive role model.
Main Duties of the job
* Assessment of care needs and development and implementation of programmes of care in the ward setting.
* Team leadership and provision of all forms of nursing care without direct supervision.
* Mentorship to pre- and post-registration students and Healthcare Assistants undertaking the National Vocational Awards.
* Provide 24-hour nursing care, working early, late and night shifts on a rotational basis.
* Support flexibility to work at other hospitals in the locality as service needs require.

Person Specification – Qualifications & Experience (Essential)
* RGN 1st Level Registration
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Evidence of team working
Desirable Criteria
* ENB or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification
* Experience working within a community hospital and caring for the elderly
* Leadership skills
* First Degree or Diploma (or working towards)

* Ability to work shifts to meet the needs of the service
* Flexibility to meet service needs
Skills and Aptitude – Essential
* Well organised, confident, aware of the limitations of the role, insight into NHS changes
* Ability to undertake training as required
