Head of Network and Telephony Services
We are looking for a Head of Network and Telephony Services to join our IT Department in Leighton Buzzard. You will play a leading role in delivering the formal requirements associated with the Connells Group Network and Telephony Service, including design, capacity, management and configuration management responsibilities. As the Head of Network and Telephony Services, you will be managing a team of technical specialists across networks and telephony on a day-to-day basis, liaising with 3rd party providers, mentoring and developing the teams core skills and expertise whilst maturing the overall processes and procedures in relation to the service. The role also supports the business objectives and strategy through the delivery of network capacity and capability at locations across corporate WAN, LAN and Wi-Fi.
Key responsibilities:
1. Line management of a number of direct reports within the team. Resource management across the team, ensuring that the relevant workload associated to the team (Design, Project delivery, Operational and Change) are delivered as agreed.
2. Act as the Subject Matter expertise around the Network and Telephony capability, using practices such as thought leadership to ensure Connells employees are enabled to work anywhere/anytime across our offices and to enable robust homeworking for employees.
3. Maintain the network connections for all Connells users, managing critical downtime and risk of disruption.
4. To lead on ensuring an appropriate and robust response to applicable incidents, and to ensure root cause analysis and resolution occurs. In addition, ensuring an applicable out-of-hours support model in place as required for 24x7x365 operational running.
5. To ensure that relevant industry frameworks (e.g. ITIL) and design principles are established, creating levels of governance that ensure our network and telephony services are safe, secure and reliable.
6. Responsible for day-to-day contract management, specifically the long-term service contracts associated with networks and telephony and underlying technologies supported.
7. Deputise for the Group Infrastructure Director as required.
Experience & skills require:
8. Professionally qualified within Networking and / or Contact Centre Telephony technologies
9. Demonstrable Experience in similar relevant technical managerial roles or broad experience and proven success in a networking and / or telephony function/specialist area.
10. Strong experience of incident resolution, requests, changes and problem-solving activities delivered to agreed SLAs
Desirable:
11. Experience of managing teams of over 10+ people in a complex, challenging environment setting and managing against SLA’s and business objectives.
12. Experience of implementing and managing next-generation networking including SDWAN
13. Experience working with telecom networks across large national infrastructures including 24x7x365 operational SLA’s and criticality
