Role Summary
Reporting to the Sustainability Manager, the Energy Coordinator will play a critical role within the Sustainability team by supporting energy data collection and analysis across Pinewood Group’s portfolio. This will inform sustainability initiatives, infrastructure investments, and strategic real estate projects. The holder supports colleagues, contractors, tenants and productions to ensure accurate energy consumption and billing data.
The role is based within the HSSC department and works closely with Facility Services, Production Management, Finance and Property functions. The role splits time evenly between Pinewood Studios and Shepperton Studios each week, with the option to work one day per week from home. The Energy Coordinator supports the department in delivering ambitious sustainability targets, while supporting the Sustainability Manager in implementing the department’s vision and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with the Sustainability Manager and Sustainability Advisor to fully understand the Group’s energy portfolio, including facilities, supplies, expected consumption and variations.
* Research and collect data from internal and external sources, including performing monthly physical meter readings and verifying automated data accuracy.
* Utilise data analysis techniques to highlight energy saving opportunities in line with carbon reduction, ESOS, and other sustainability targets.
* Monitor utilities consumption and work with Finance in our role as Landlord to ensure accurate energy billing for clients on the Studio Lots. Support compilation of the Utilities Budget.
* Maintain and manage the Group’s energy metering software, ensuring data storage (MPANs, meter refs), automated data inputs, manual data inputs, system fault monitoring, automated reporting, utility invoice validation, new building set up.
* Client reporting on energy consumption and efficiency opportunities across the estates, including analysis of data completeness on invoice.
* Stay up to date with energy‑related regulations and standards to ensure compliance in the Group’s reporting and systems.
* Produce cost and consumption reports on gaps in data, exceptions on consumption, discussing potential reasons such as equipment installations or occupancy variations.
* Highlight emerging industry changes and impact on Pinewood Group.
* Collect and analyse energy consumption data from buildings, equipment, and systems.
* Prepare cost‑benefit analyses to demonstrate the financial viability of proposed energy‑saving initiatives.
* Provide recommendations for energy‑efficient upgrades, retrofits, and renewable energy integration. Prepare clear reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
Essential Criteria
* Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related field.
* Experience in energy analysis, preferably in a mechanical/electrical/engineering industry.
* Knowledge of energy standards and regulations.
* Proven analytical skills.
* Excellent Excel modelling skills.
* Strong analytical skills with large datasets.
* Proficient with MS Office Suite.
* Creative thinking and idea generation.
* Excellent writing, presentation and information retention skills.
* Tenacity and confidence to overcome obstacles.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience with Power BI.
* Valid UK driving licence.
