Are you an experienced Senior Assistant Psychologist (AP), who has at least one year of supervised AP experience, and wants to work part of a friendly and experienced Psychological Therapies Team in a national specialist service?
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist with experience, passion and flexibility to work at our Medium Secure adolescent inpatient unit.
Bluebird House provides a 13 bedded Secure Forensic Mental Health Service for young people aged 12 to 18.
The postholder will work alongside other psychological therapy colleagues (psychologists, systemic practitioners, arts therapists and clinical nurse specialist) and a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team. The post contains a range of duties which contribute to the psychological provision to young people, families and carers, as well as contributing to the promotion of a psychologically informed environment and working with staff teams supporting highly complex cases. Bluebird House has a psychologically informed model of care based on attachment and trauma theory, and also draws from Non Violence Resistance (NVR).
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work alongside other psychological therapy colleagues and a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team. The purpose of the role is to contribute to the provision of a psychological therapies service to young people, their families, and carers. In addition to the delivery of therapeutic work, the role will involve contributing to the promotion of a psychologically informed environment and working with staff teams supporting highly complex cases. With appropriate support and supervision, the post-holder will offer consultation on relevant aspects of the needs and care of young people and the systems around them to contribute to formulations and management plans of a young person's needs and risk. The post also offers opportunities to contribute to training and workforce development and to use research skills for audit, policy, and service.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BA or BSc in Psychology or related fields (e.g., conversion Masters) recognised by the British Psychological Society.
* Further training in psychological skills or principles e.g., MSc/MA in Psychology.
