Overview
We are looking for a caring and resilient Childrens Residential Support Worker to join our team in Leeds. You will be working with young people aged up to 17 who have a range of mental health needs and may have experienced trauma or challenging life circumstances.
Responsibilities
* Providing day-to-day care, emotional support, and guidance to help each young person feel safe, valued, and supported.
* Encouraging positive routines, building trust, and helping them develop life skills and confidence.
* Supporting young people with their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
* Helping them access education, activities, and community services.
* Managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional way.
* Keeping accurate records and following safeguarding procedures.
* Working closely with colleagues, families, and other professionals.
What we\re looking for
* Experience working with young people who have mental health needs.
* Understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care.
* Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond with empathy.
* Flexible approach to working shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
* A relevant qualification in care, youth work, or mental health is desirable but not essential if you have strong experience.
