Position Overview
The role of Quality Control Technician reports to the Production Manager. QC Technicians will undertake the testing of all raw, intermediate and final products that are on the site. They will be responsible for carrying out environmental analysis for compliance with regulations and permit to work systems. The QC technician is responsible for meeting all the testing requirements for COSHH, Waste, Environmental and water treatment systems as well as managing the QC function in conjunction with production support to ensure product is available for the customer. QC Technician will also be responsible for assisting in production planning based on production schedules from the customers and stock levels on the site.
Job Responsibilities
* Responsible for completion of all testing regimes on raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
* Completion of all documentation and all necessary data entry into SAP.
* The control of all stored inventory on site and to ensure all material is within specification.
* Issuing of blending and transfer instructions to production staff.
* Responsible for COSHH, environmental, waste and water treatment testing.
* Control of laboratory consumable stocks and ensure housekeeping in the laboratories is of the highest order.
* Responsible for the correct storage of keeping samples.
* Responsible for ensuring all analytical and laboratory equipment is operational, maintained and calibrated in line with the quality system.
* Responsibility to comply with all Company rules for health and safety and to co-operate with the company to ensure that all statutory duties are undertaken in line with appropriate legislation.
* Responsible for completing the gas testing related to the issue of permits.
* Responsible for completing COSHH and personal monitoring regime in accordance with relevant legislation.
* Key role in daily site meetings to assist in coordination of planning.
* Completion of all Quality records, data and documentation to ensure compliance.
Education & Experience
* Educated to HNC / HND or degree in scientific discipline or relevant experience (time served).
* Experience of working in industrial setting.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety.
* Knowledge of Permit to Work System.
* Knowledge of COMAH regulations and requirements (desired).
* Knowledge and understanding of Quality Management System (ISO9001).
* Experience using basic computer packages (word, excel etc.).
* Experience in using SAP (desired).
* Experience of non-conformances investigation and reporting (preferred but not essential).
* Experience of driving heavy plant machinery (preferred but not essential).
