Financial Accountant
Location: Swindon, United Kingdom
Role Summary: Onsite role, Monday – Friday 37.5 p/w.
Our Swindon facility is home to our Zydis® fast-dissolving tablet development and manufacturing operation, alongside a CMC pharmaceutical analytical services unit offering ASAP stability studies.
We are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join our Swindon site. This role is responsible for external reporting, statutory compliance, and maintaining a strong financial control environment across multiple UK entities.
Working closely with the Financial Controller, wider finance team, and external advisors, you will gain valuable exposure to audit, statutory accounts, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting within a multi-entity, international business. This role offers a clear pathway for progression into a senior financial reporting or controllership position.
The Role:
1. External Reporting & Compliance
2. Manage the annual audit process for the Swindon group
3. Prepare and submit statutory accounts for three UK entities
4. Oversee corporation tax compliance and prepare supporting analysis, including US reporting packs
5. Manage UK banking relationships and systems (including Barclays.net)
6. Support pension covenant monitoring and reporting
7. Ensure company secretarial and external filing obligations are met
8. Identify and implement improvements to financial reporting and tax processes
9. Partner with senior stakeholders to improve cost control and drive efficiencies
10. Support cash flow and working capital management
11. Oversee headcount tracking and forecasting with HR
12. Provide financial insights to support decision-making
13. Assist with month-end close, including payroll accounting and tax reconciliations
14. Manage SOX compliance, including audit and walkthrough activities
15. Review and strengthen internal control environments
16. Act as a technical finance lead and deputy to the Financial Controller
17. Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and support as required
The Candidate
18. ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
19. Strong statutory reporting experience
20. Knowledge of UK GAAP and corporate tax
21. Experience in a multi-entity or regulated environment is advantageous
22. Strong Excel skills; JDE and/or OneStream experience preferred
23. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
24. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
25. Highly organised, accurate, and dependable
26. Able to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
27. Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to take ownership
28. Ambitious with a desire to progress into a controllership role
